I'm mentally ready for my next vacation but have to wait 11 days to leave... I guess I shouldn't complain since you probably have to wait longer until your next vacation and also because I was on vacation just over a month ago. My friend FINALLY booked his flights so I was able to book mine! Tomorrow night I'll book travel for the last part of my trip... so where am I going?
I'll arrive in Paris early morning on the 21st for sightseeing in "the city of light". Then, early morning on the 24th, we're flying from Charles de Gaulle to Edinburgh to see tour a castle, eat porridge, and hang with rugby players. Jesse leaves on the 28th to go home but my trip won't hardly be half over by then. After saying "sayonara" at the airport, I'm headed to London! My Aussie friend Jim is letting me stay with him until the morning of the 5th. After a train ride through the Chunnel, I'll be back home in Lille and looking forward to my next vacation in April! I'm so excited to finally make my way into Britain! :) I do have to admit though, that every time I meet a new British assistant here in France, it takes until the third or fourth time that I see them for me to actually understand a word they say - unless they speak French.

On top of actually pulling together vacation plans for this trip, I got some other exciting news this week. One of my favorite people in the world - the amazing roommate who put up with all my crazy nonsense senior year in college and still asked me to be in her wedding two years ago - had her baby! Congratulations Erica! Thanks to facebook, I was that she a perdu les eaux a week earlier than her Valentine's due date. Through reading congratulatory comments, I garnered the fact that her name is Everly. Everly Aljets. And she's quite a beauty from the pictures her proud father, Josh, posted. Félicitations, Josh and Erica! You're going to be fabulous parents! I can't believe I have to wait until she's five months old to see her in person! I'm a proud Auntie Kelsey already!
For more icing on the cake, today is my half birthday! Happy half birthday to me! : ) Six months left until I hit the quarter-century mark. Twenty-five actually sounds nice to me but I'm not done living up twenty-four. Anyways, I need to stop procrastinating and do a little lesson planning... Even though there is a strike tomorrow, only two of my teachers will be MIA. At least I get to show up 45 minutes later than usual!

Elle a perdu les eaux. - Her water broke. (But the literal translation is "lost the water.")
Félicitations! - Congratulations!
So jealous your vacation starts earlier than ours! I still have two and a half weeks! Sounds like an amazing trip you have planned :)
ReplyDeleteHanging with rugby players in Edinburgh sounds like a pretty good vacation to me!
ReplyDeleteBrenna - my vacation may start earlier than yours but you'll still be on vacation when i am back at work!
ReplyDeleteSara Louise - sounds great, doesn't it?! :)
Wow, your trip sounds like it will be so much fun! I want to go to Scotland at some point, but I think it will have to wait. But London and Paris are oh-so-fab, too! :) YAY!
ReplyDeleteI'll be heading to Paris on the 26th! I can't wait. I just wish that it was also followed by an Edinburgh trip like yours was... that is a fantastic picture of Paris!
